Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to undress for the massage? The massage is performed while the recipient is fully clothed. No oils are necessary, so you can quickly return to your activities without needed to dress/undress or shower.
What do I wear for the massage? Our services are designed to be performed through a layer of clothing and the chair is designed to accommodate all types of attire, including skirts and dresses. It is only suggested that layered sweaters, coats or sport coats be removed.
How long does the massage last? Appointments can be scheduled for any length of time, but usually blocks of 30 minutes are reserved for each Massage Doctor On Call™ session. An ten-minute invigoration session is often provided to meeting and event participants.
How often can I get a Massage? Our massage services are acupressure based. You can get a massage as often as you wish. We recommend at least once a month for employees working at workstations on an ongoing basis.
Will the massage be painful at all? As with any massage, it is up to the client to set the pressure used by the therapist. If you feel too much or even too little pressure is being used, just ask the therapist to make an adjustment for you.
Are there any reasons I cannot get a massage? Our massage services are designed to meet almost everyone’s needs. Very low blood pressure or very high blood pressure needs to be indicated to the therapist, so adjustments can be made, such as a slower pace and less pressure. You should also indicate to the therapist if you are pregnant and if there are any complications you are aware of and if you have had complications with any previous pregnancies. Again, so adjustments can be made. Always indicate if you feel faint or uncomfortable during the massage, your safety is always the most important aspect.
Who pays for the massage?

Many extended healthcare plans provide an annual benefit for massage services. Often, there is no cost to the employee or the employer for our services. Ask your HR manager about your healthcare plan and about having Massage Doctor On Call™ provide services at your location.

If coverage is not available, the employer may elect to cover part or all of the service as part of their corporate wellness plan.

Is there any liability towards the employer? No, we only provide services by registered massage therapists who are required by law to be fully insured. No liability can be assumed or taken towards the business.
Is a minimum booking required? Yes, Massage Doctor On Call™ requires a minimum booking of 10, 30 minute sessions per service day to provide an on-site massage therapist.
How much space is needed at my office? Each Registered Massage Therapist requires approximately a 5 x 6 foot space to work. A spare office or conference room is ideal. The therapist brings everything else needed including an ergonomic massage chair and soothing music.
